Rosegold pussy willow stays a smaller shrub, its leaves are narrower with many conspicuous parallel veins, and its male catkins look gray tinged with red.

- Range
- Native to Japan, Korea, and northeastern China. In the U.S. it is a garden plant.

Growing it
- Care
- Rated hardy in USDA zones 5–8. Like other willows, it suits wet spots and can help control erosion along streams and ponds. Deer tend to leave it alone, and an overgrown plant can be cut back hard to regrow from the base. Cultivated plants are generally male, so female catkins are rarely seen in gardens.
Name and classification
- Varieties and forms
- A form with blackish-red catkins (f. melanostachys) is also grown.
