The Eastern Buzzard is an East Asian hawk with broad wings and no established population in the mainland United States. It has a fairly short tail, and many birds show a dark belly band and dark patches at the wrists on the undersides of the wings. It hunts rodents and other small animals by watching from high perches or circling overhead.
