Blackhead Seabream is a dark silver fish of East Asian coasts. It does not occur naturally in U.S. coastal waters. It is also called black porgy.

It has a deep, flattened body that looks silver-gray to dark gray. Young fish can show dark bars across their sides.

Range
Its native range is in the northwestern Pacific, including waters around Korea, Japan, China, and Taiwan. It is not native to U.S. coastal waters.
